G2 in Chicago

Daniel is finally settled in to Chicago and working on getting caught up with Battles and Antic.

We have updated the web Gallery with new images and are looking forward to bringing you more videos and extras. The first of which will be from Lucid World creator: James Pinard. He is working on a trailer to promote his zombie book "Lucid World" (Jan/Feb 2012) featuring artists from all over the world! Check out the video in our extras section in the next couple of weeks!

That's about all for now...more this week!

The New G2!

First off, we would like to apologize to our fans for backing out of Wizard World: Mid-Ohio. We are very upset that we are not able to make it back to the state that has been so good to us this year. Daniel was met with a last-minute opportunity (of which the specifics can not yet be revealed), but this opportunity is going to very much benefit G2 and our fans in 2012!

But the action has not stopped...may have slowed a little, but nevertheless! Even through all the events taking place in the background, we are still planning on releasing some great books this year! The list is as follows:

Battles #1 and #2 (Oct/Nov)
Antic #3 (Nov)
Lucid World (Nov/Dec)
The Triad #4: Part 2 (December)

New for for 2012:

Kross and Vengeance
League o' Tards
The Outcasts (unofficial title)
All Hell

...and more!

Thanks for sticking with us as we undergo some changes to prepare for a tremendous 2012!

RSAM, K&V, TRAD-COM, AND WWCCx2!!!

As is typical of the G2 team, there are tons of plans and projects in the works - so we're here to give you a quick rundown of things past and present, and most importantly, the future!!!
As far as what is past, the G2 "Storm" hit Chicago much like we had hoped it would. We sold some books, saw some old fans (thanks Tony, Justin and Jose!) and made some new ones, and of course played a great game of "Hotel Sniper" this time without the Hotel Security. Tal Hertweck, G2's very own model, drew a lot of attention on Friday and Saturday as Kross, the latest and greatest character starring in the forthcoming Kross & Vengeance book due out early next year, with preview pages and a brief glimpse of Kross in the conclusion of Triad #4 (part 2!) Dan and Tal had an awesome photoshoot which you can see now on Facebook, and we will see in more detail in upcoming previews and perhaps a few prints. Tal also drew the attention of Chicago radio station WGTR, and was joined by Eric Glastetter in giving the station an exclusive teaser interview revealing some of the intricacies of "Kross & Vengeance!" Evan Thomas was in Chicago at the G2 booth as well, and did a little book-signing along with Dan and Eric on the Raptor Samurai book, which was wildly popular!
Speaking of the Raptor Samurai - Dan assures G2 readers that "Raptor Samurai" will be available for digital download and in print through the website by 10 pm tonight (8/17/11) - so be sure to get your copy today! And if you haven't picked up "Raptor Sniper: One Shot" yet, now is the perfect time to get caught up on the story of Billy William the Veloci-er... the Utahraptor. Sadly, we'll be slowing down a little on the Raptor series (just until early 2012) to get some other projects done, including "Antic" #3 and "Battles #1: Marathon"; "Triad #4, Part 2"; and Dan's pet project, "Trad Com" - a precursor to "Antic #1"! G2 will be revealing this comic page on 5 foot, oil painted canvas at the MidOhio Comic Con in October!
We are also continuing to sponsor and publish new talent as part of the G2 Studios commitment to the next generation of graphic story-telling. Keep watching for the release of "Lucid World" by creative team James Pinard, Miguel Guerra, Michael Brewer, and Sanju Nivangune. We are also going forward with projects from Autumn Richardson (Writer, "All Hell") and Aiden Lowell (Writer, "The Moirae"). In addition we are continuing to accept submissions.
On a very important side note: Congratulations to Amanda Carrie Kateri Bruns for winning the exclusive Wizard World G2 sketch of her favorite superheros! She chose to have the G2 team sketched in costume. Evan sketched himself as a Raptor, a tribute to one of his favorite subjects, Raptor Samurai, while Dan chose to show himself as G2Man! Although Eric probably should have chosen to have himself portrayed as The Angel of Death, he chose to be represented by "The Punisher" (almost the same thing, right?) - and he plays the part well! Check out the finished sketch on G2's Facebook page!
One final thought: though the Raptor series will take a backseat to some of the other key projects we have planned for the year, Eric is hard at work finishing up the script for the next humorous book from G2, "The League of Tards" and will soon begin writing "Raptor Sniper: Black Ops" and "Raptor Sniper: Zombie Apocalypse", while developing the spin-off books, "Ape-Sh*t: Tales of the Reverend Simian" and "DOSK: The Department of SideKicks." Look forward to a long future for these characters! Thanks to all our fans, old and new, and thanks for reading G2 Comics!!!

Pre-Con

It's been a little while since our last post. We have been working on completing the next installment in the raptor series: "Raptor Samurai," which is going to be available TOMORROW at Wizard World Chicago! We also hope to get it up on Drive-Thru this weekend for digital download.

Wizard World Chicago is a mere 29 hours away, and we couldn't be more excited! Evan Thomas (Raptor Samurai penciler) will be joining us at the booth (#3652), along with Tal Rich http://www.facebook.com/lacaena, who will be modeling as the character Kross from our new series: Kross and Vengeance (coming this fall).

Daniel and Evan will be taking commissions at the convention, and Daniel will be doing some artwork for one of our lucky facebook fans! (Drawing date TBD).

Along with that, Daniel will be working on interior pencils for K&V and Battles #1 at the con, and hopes to have some teasers online this weekend. Antic #3 will resume immediately upon our return from the con...expect that in September.

We will be updating FROM THE CON, so keep an eye out for Pics, posts and Interviews from Wizard World Chicago!!!

Cape Con Recap

What a tremendous opportunity to have been part of the CapeCon Comic Convention in Cape Girardeau, Missouri this past weekend! We met some outstanding new fans and made some new friends! Among those were the guys at Nerd Word; check out their Facebook page and just go ahead and click LIKE - they were a great bunch of guys who love comics, gaming and all of geekdom!
We also found a new home for some of our favorite titles - the Raptor Sniper book will now be available at the Marvels and Legends Store in Cape Girardeau, and The Hour of the Dragon Store in Sikeston, Missouri! The Raptor book is definitely a hot commodity - so be sure to get yours while you can (if you haven't already!) Also, look for the Raptor Samurai book to drop sometime in July - Evan Thomas is hard at work on the interior pencils, Michael Brewer is on inks, and Daniel will be taking on the role of coloring and lettering, as well as all that boss-like stuff like getting the book printed and in the stores. It's been a whirlwind project - and one that we've been producing as the script is being written. We really want to get that book into the hands of all our fans! As a sneak peek - Dan should be getting the prints for Raptor Samurai up online to purchase sometime later this week, along with prints for Antic 3 and Kross and Vengeance, the follow up to The Triad which is in the early stages of production and should see a late fall release this year yet.
Speaking of Kross and Vengeance - we're very excited to welcome aboard another addition to the G2 team - Tal Hertweck of FantasyFrox.com. She's a very talented seamstress and character model who will be donning her very own Kross costume for Wizard World Chicago. She appeared at Cape Con as "Revy" of the Black Lagoon anime series, the sultry "Black Cat" from the Spiderman comics, and "Cheyenne Freemont" the sexy female "Nightwing!" We are thrilled to have her with us, and we're sure the fanboys will be too!
A special thanks needs to go to Ken Murphy who coordinated the Cape Con and was a gracious host - we at G2 can be primadonnas sometimes (LOL!) We also want to be sure to thank every fan who stopped by and made a purchase, and those who just browsed. We met some up and coming young talent, and some great costumed characters! Thanks especially to Harley and Rorschach - you know who you are - for being our biggest new fans. Finally - thanks to Evan Thomas who joined us for the first time as part of the G2 team at the Cape Con! He brought his portfolio, his prints, and hammered out several commissions during his time at the booth. He was great to hang with and added a lot to the G2 booth!

TRIPLE PUNCTUATION

It is another busy month for G2 Studios as Daniel, Eric and Evan head to Cape Girardeau, MO for CAPE-CON where we will be releasing (in PRINT) THE TRIAD #4: Part 1!!! So if you happen to be in southeastern Missouri on June 24,25, or 26, be sure to check it out!!! More info here::: http://www.cape-con.com/... We'll get to meet William Katt there, so I'm sure we'll come up with some kind of new crazy comic idea centered around the Greatest American Hero; or maybe we can just get the rights for that title itself!!! We get all our best inspiration at the cons!!!

Not only will G2 be releasing The Triad #4 in full print, but we will also be selling prints; right now it looks like there will be prints available for Antic #3, Raptor Samurai, and Kross and Vengeance!!! The artistic team will also be giving away a Kross and Vengeance black and white print with exclusive Daniel Gracey pencil art!!! We are planning to have 30 of these for the first 30 G2 customers at the Con!!! There is also discussion regarding a smaller version of the Lysandra Power Unleashed panel - one of my favorite renderings of Lysandra to date!!!

So what could possibly be next for G2 with everything already going on??? After talking with some freelance artists, inkers, and an expanded writing team, G2 is looking to publish several historical pieces, covering great battles throughout both ancient and modern history!!! To start, we are looking at either The Battle for Marathon, the beach where the Athenians battled the Persians to defend their freedom, or The Battle of Teutoburg Forest, where three Roman Legions were cut down by a united Germania!!! For modern warfare, we are looking at both the Tank Battle of Kursk between the Russians and Germans in WW2, or the Battle for Leyte Gulf in the Phillipines, specifically regarding the sinking of the Gambier Bay!!! So if you are a history buff, G2 hopes to have something coming your way late this year...

Finally, a character near and dear to our hearts is finding a home in a new title currently in development!!! Gamble, the superhero blessed with luck, (yet somehow deemed not worthy of the top 50 best comic characters by Talent House) will be making his way into his own comic, along with a stellar new team of heroes, sometime in first half of 2012!!! Script development will begin this Fall... We're still working on a great title for this one, and may put it to a vote in the future... But for now, the working title is "The Outcasts"... Again, we should see this in print sometime next year!!! -EJG (...)

G Force

As you may already know, G2 has brought on two new artists to the staff: Michael Brewer (inks) and Evan Thomas (pencils/color). They are very talented guys and we are excited to have them on our projects for this year!

Michael is now on board for the Kross and Vengeance book, due to start in June/July, and working on our FREE PREVIEW for K&V, which will be given away to a lucky 500 people at the beginning of June. Michael was the mastermind behind the inks for Raptor Sniper, and will continue to ink for other "Raptor" books to come.

Evan was brought on to do some prints and character bios, but we thought that his talent should be used in our books as well. Evan will be signed on to do the pencils for Raptor Samurai, which will be the first book that all four members are collaborating on together, thus creating the "G Force." (cheesy, i know but i think its cool!)

In bringing on more members to the G2 Staff, we hope to get books out at a more steady pace so that fans will be able to expect titles from us on a monthly basis. That being said, the submission floodgates will open sometime tonight (5/11) on the website; so get drawing!

G2 in Mid Ohio and Chicago/Potential Release Dates

Adding to our list of cons for the year, G2 signed onto the MidOhio Comic Con, now sponsored by Wizard World, and one of our favorite cons, the Wizard World Chicago Con, which is where we had our first big con experience. We have always felt a great deal of inspiration when attending the Chicago con, which is where we have come up with ideas for books like Raptor Sniper, and the in-development League of Tards book. The MidOhio con takes place in late October and Chicago is in August again. We hope to catch up with some old fans, and meet plenty of new ones. In keeping with our plan to release new books for each con, we are planning to release Antic #3 at the upcoming Cape Con in Cape Girardeau, and a second Raptor Sniper book, Raptor Samurai (due to popular demand!) at the Chicago Con. In between we will be releasing the first installment of Kross and Vengeance (with Michael Brewer on inks) from the pages of The Triad sometime in late June or early July, and we are looking to release a slightly delayed Triad #4 in May. This is the big 48 page finale and Daniel is working to make it super awesome! Just a reminder to check out our newest feature - prints for purchase online. Check out the Evan Thomas Raptor Sniper: Black Ops full color print for just $5.00. Also, if you haven't gotten your copy of Raptor Sniper: "One Shot" you can order online now, or get a digital copy at Drive Thru Comics!

GEM CITY and the state of G2

Hey G2sians (pronounced gee-two'-z-nz)!!! Welcome back to Daniel Gracey - G2 creator/owner - who was just visiting the Gem City comic con in Dayton, Ohio!!! We at G2 love the Ohio bunch and we are looking forward to being a part of some of Ohio's future cons, including the Mid-Ohio con later this year. Dan had great fun at the Dayton show and sold many books, specifically the Antic books, which are now sold out!!! (Don't fret - you can still get your own copy if you order online, or if you want digital, check out DriveThruComics.com!) He also sold tons of prints; we are planning to release prints for online purchase on the 15th of this month!!! Finally - I want to give a shout out to Evan Thomas - Eric met him in Columbus! Evan did some outstanding print artwork for future Raptor Sniper titles. We are hoping to use his work at the Cape Girardeau CAPECON in June - we'll be sure to keep you posted on the outstanding art this talented artist is providing the comic world! Check out the G2 Facebook site to see Evan's Raptor Sniper artwork!

SPACE Con/New Allies

Hey everyone from Eric in Columbus, Ohio where G2 is making their presence known in the Small Press/Alternative Comics world. I've met some great people here, and have seen (and purchased) some great artwork/comics!

To start, G2 - Eric and Daniel - personally appreciate each of the fans that purchased our books today - we had a great business day, but more importantly, we got our stories and artwork into the hands of fanboys/girls and other creators alike - thanks to everyone who purchased, and to everyone who showed interest in G2!

Our appreciation also to Packrat Comics and Laughing Ogre Comics (www.laughingogrecomics.com) who both purchased G2 comics to sell in their stores! We appreciate their help in getting the G2 product into the hands of fanboys and girls in this market! We hope the books do well, so they will carry them on a regular basis! If you are a resident of Columbus, be sure to request our books in these stores!

And while there are far to many to mention all of them here, it's been fun meeting some of the other creators, including another team from St. Louis - inlcuding Matt Bryan, Aaron James Ford (www.aaronjamesford.com) and Kevin Wolf (http://pangaea.egocomix.com/); Kevin also has a bio on www.inkanddrinkcomics.com. Our next door neighbor here at the con is www.peculiarcomics.com - the creator known simply as ED with the most innovative marketing idea I have seen yet at a comic con - business cards with stick on fake moustaches - BRILLIANT - I saw dozens (just shy of 100 in fact) of fake moustaches roaming about the con. One of my favorite creators with inventive stories and deeply imaginative artwork was Richard Errington of InterVerse Comics (www.interversecomics.com) - and I bought #1-3 of his title Bushidan (produced with Rowel Roque) which I will read promptly upon my return to St. Louis. I was intrigued by every one of his titles. Another great story was described by Douglas Hufford - whose digital comic "Yuri - The Gypsy Hunter is available digitally at www.yurithecomic.com. Last but not least - one of my favorites on the originality scale is the Plastic Farm title by Rafer Roberts, with artwork contributed by Jacob Warrenfeltz, who also contributed to DC Conspiracy's SHEAR TERROR anthology, which was the first published work of everyones favorite G2 artist Daniel Gracey (find out more about Jacob at http://www.dcconspiracy.com/about.htm! I'll let you check out Rafer's work at www.plasticfarm.com and you can see for yourself just how outrageously interesting this work is!

Finally, I need to give a shout out to the guys at Broken Icon Comics, specifically Eric Watkins. Their work is outstanding (they currently offer four titles on their site) and they are a real down-to-earth team of guys that get excited about promoting the indie scene, and they LOVED Daniel's artwork! You can find podcasts and updates on their Facebook page, including a photo of the G2 booth with our Eric and their Eric proudly holding G2 titles. Also, check out their website at www.brokeniconcomics.com for a podcast interview with Eric of G2 -that's me! They should be giving us an update as to when the podcast interview will air, along with a review of the Triad books!

I know I've missed a few great teams, but I'll be updating Facebook with more as the weekend progresses, and going into next week! Thanks for following us!

Get Your Own G2 Artwork!!!

Ever wish you could have you favorite G2 characters adorning your wall, but you haven't been able to get to any of the conventions to buy the exclusives? Daniel has just announced that he will be releasing prints to the sight on the 15th and 30th of every month for our fans to purchase! That's exciting news as he shifts his style for the prints to achieve a higher, "fine art" quality. That means we'll be offering more prints like the now infamous "Cathedral" print that sold out early on Saturday of the Wizard World Chicago convention, and the Triad IV teaser poster that will be exclusive to the Ohio market.

Not only will we be offering these prints to purchase, but Daniel and Eric have been discussing options for various contests to win signed artwork and prints. Stay tuned for more information about these contests as the details are worked out!

And don't forget, if your in the Columbus, Ohio area this weekend, Eric and his lovely wife/assistant, Sara will be at the SPACE Con on Saturday and Sunday where we will be releasing "Raptor Sniper: One Shot" and a new/updated G2 website!!!

Raptor Sniper and the SPACE Con

Next week is another big week for G2 Studios as we get ready to release our next title - Raptor Sniper "One Shot" - the first attempt at a humorous title for the G2 team, and we are totally excited. The art is looking great, and the story is even funnier in graphic form than we had originally anticipated from the script. We hope our fans agree.

Daniel, while finishing up the final pages of the new release, will also be working hard to prep several prints for the Columbus and Dayton conventions, SPACE and Gem City. We'll have five exclusive prints to offer, including the Azrael/Triad 4 teaser poster (featured on the G2/Facebook account,) which we will be giving away with the purchase of a Triad 3-pack, as well as a first look at the Kross character from the upcoming title Kross and Vengeance, and a new Antic poster.

Finally, Daniel will also be finishing up the final updates on the Website, so all of our new fans in Ohio will have an exciting new look to experience when they visit our site for the first time! Stay tuned for updates this week and next!

The New G2

Last week, G2 Comics owner/artist Daniel Gracey and author Eric Glastetter met to discuss changes for 2011, and the result is a reinvigorated, more structured G2, which will be doing business as G2 Studios in 2011! So what can readers and fans expect from the new G2?

First, G2 will be focusing largely on offering more character prints, with a style of art that will reflect more detailed architecture and landscapes reminiscient of the Lysandra "Cathedral" print Daniel did for the 2010 Chicago Wizard World Comic Con, which later became the cover for The Triad #3. These prints will have a fine art quality, and we will be offering a minimum of 5 exclusive prints at each convention, and will soon begin to follow up on our promise to offer prints for online purchase as well.

As for conventions, G2 has realized that this is the most successful way for us to reach new audiences following great success at the 2010 Chicago Wizard World Con, and Project Comics Con in St. Louis, so we will be looking to attend more cons this year. Daniel and Eric will each be attending cons in Columbus and Dayton, Ohio; Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and even San Francisco, CA. The entire list is located on our website homepage, and will be updated as additional events are added.

Since we will be offering more prints and attending more conventions, that means less time in the studio. So G2 has decided on a less aggressive book schedule, cutting back on our planned production for the year. However, we are still currently working to release new books during each month we attend a convention, beginning with Raptor Sniper in March for the Ohio S.P.A.C.E. con. In April, just after the Gem City Con in Dayton, OH, we will be wrapping up The Triad with the 41 page finale including a 7 page preview of G2's upcoming title Kross and Vengeance, (#1 due to release in August around the time of the Wizard World Chicago Con.) Fans at the Cape Con in Cape Girardeau, Missouri will be able to purchase or reserve the third installment in "The Siege" storyline with the release of Antic: The Chapters of Levith #3. Finally, Antic #4 will find its way into the hands of a new West Coast audience with its release during or around the time of the A.P.E. Con in San Francisco. Time permitting, we hope to offer the second issue of Kross and Vengeance in December 2011 or January 2012.

One last piece of the business restructure will include an updated website, complete with a new, and easier to use FORUM where our fans can have interactive conversations with Daniel or Eric, and new artwork. Blogs will be posted to keep you updated each and every weekend and we will update Facebook and Twitter several times during the week. In addition, we hope to have the new G2 Studios website launched this year!

Overall, it's a busy year for G2, but we've outlined a very specific business plan to ensure we are meeting every deadline to offer you the latest news and more importantly to bring you, our cherished fans, the most intricate artwork and the most exciting stories we can! We look forward to what we hope will be a breakout year, and thank you for being a part of the G2 experience!

G2011

This year is going to be an eventful one for us, first off, we have some cons lined up across the US including: Chicago, Ohio, and San Diego.

We welcome inker Michael Brewer to the team, who will be working on our first comedy: Raptor Sniper-one shot (no pun intended!), due to premiere at SPACE Con in Columbus, OH in March.

February will bring to an end a year long project: The Triad, with #4's conclusion bringing more mystery to the Triad Universe. The story continues with "KROSS", giving readers an "earthly" account of the ongoings within the celestial realm and beyond.

The Triad #4 Preview is available to view on the website.

Soon after RS and T4 are wrapped up, Daniel will start on the panels for Antic: The Chapters of Levith (The Siege: Book 3) which will be the first full-book of the series (24 pages).

Make sure to check to site every week or so to find information, updates, and extras including pics of work in progress and interviews with Daniel and Eric.
